This course is designed to assist the student in: learning how to approach ethical/professional issues, using theoretical frameworks and decision-making processes through the use of case studies, and learning how to develop a portfolio that illustrates the potential graduates' ability to meet the goals set by the profession. This class will be taken in the fall semester. In this course the student may/will complete a professional portfolio. Students will also discuss professional issues case studies and methods of resolution.
Instructional Goals - Upon completion of this course the student will/will be:
i. Learning how to approach ethical/professional issues, using theoretical frameworks and decision-making processes through the use of case studies.
ii. Learning how to develop a portfolio that illustrates the potential graduates' ability to meet the goals set by the profession
iii. Becoming familiar and proficient with the credentialing and licensing requirements of the profession.
Course Objectives - Upon completion of the course the student will
i. Demonstrate knowledge and application of professional and legal standards, and ethics sufficient for licensure as physician assistants.
ii. Demonstrate an ability to apply ethical and professional decision-making in the professional practice arena.
