Hu C. Myers Office Dedication

A-B President Richard Creehan (left) assist Dr. Evangeline (Myers) Poling '46 in cutting the ribbon to Dr. Hu C. Myers' Office during a dedication ceremony at Homecoming 2011.  Many HCMPAAA members were in attendance at Homecoming this past year.  Prior to the October 15th ribbon cutting, a CME was held as well as a luncheon in Myers Hall.  Later that evening, a PA Alumni Pig Roast was held at Oral Lake in Bridgeport.

 

 

The Hu. C Myers PA Alumni Association was created in 2007 to provide professional growth of its members;  to support the standards of excellence of the Alderson-Broaddus College Physician Assistant Program; to periodically contribute financial funds to the A-B PA Program Educational Programs; to serve as a forum for both students and graduates, enhancing both networking activities and college relations; to support camaraderie among graduates and students of the A-B PA Program; and to enhance the image and support of all A-B PA graduates.

Hu C. and Avanelle Myers Award

The Hu C. and Avanelle Myers Award is awarded annually to Alderson-Broaddus College graduate who has made notable achievements and possesses great leadership in the physician assistant profession.

Nomination Form

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 Hu C. and Avenelle Myers Award.

The nominee must be a graduate of the Alderson-Broaddus College Physician Assistant Program, either undergraduate, graduate or masters.  Previous nominees will remain eligible each year. 

Selection criteria includes the following: 1) number of years of service to the profession; 2) number of years of service with a professional state or national organization as an elected officer, board member, and/or committee chair; 3) community service involvement; 4) outstanding deeds or acts. 

Selection committee will consist of the Director of the Physician Assistant Studies Program, the Director of the Alumni Relations, a tenured representative of the Physician Assistant Faculty, and a staff person from the Physician Assistant Department.  Final approval will be obtained from the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees of Alderson-Broaddus College.

Those eligible to nominate a person to receive this award shall include any graduate of the Alderson-Broaddus College Physician Assistant Program, any member of the selection committee, faculty and staff of Alderson-Broaddus College, and/or colleagues/patients in a medical setting.
