Four Battlers Earn WVIAC Post-Season Honors

Following a second place regular season finish in the WVIAC, the Battler basketball team placed four individuals on the all-conference squads.

Stan Hall, a native of Canton, Ohio, was named to the first team.  Hall, a 6-3 guard, averaged 18.3 points per game, which was ninth in the conference.  The junior also averaged 4.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.  He was the only player in the conference to repeat as a first team honoree.

Joining Hall on the first team was Terrell Eargle.  The 2007 WVIAC Freshman of the Year picked up where he left off during his rookie campaign, scoring 12.6 points per game.  The 6-4 guard from Youngstown, Ohio was tenth in the conference in rebounding (7.8), fourth in assists (5.4), and third in steals (2.2).  Eargle was the lone sophomore named to the all-conference first team.

Samario Clancy, a 6-3 senior forward, was named to the honorable mention squad.  He averaged 7.4 points per game and was thirteenth in the conference in rebounding with 7.3 per game.  The Cleveland, Ohio native also converted on 52 percent of his field goals.

Clancy was joined by fellow senior Jimmy Williams on the honorable mention team.  Williams, a 6-4 forward scored at 14.4 clip and was 53 percent from the floor, which was good enough for thirteenth in the conference.  The Chicago native was also sixth in rebounding, averaging 8.6 per game, and first in offensive boards, with 3.5 per outing.
