Renewing the Promise:
the Campaign for Alderson-Broaddus
“I
stand on the shoulders of those who went before me.”
— Sir Isaac Newton.
So reads the inscription on our statue of Apollo,
a gift from an alumnus that has become a focal point on campus.
With these words to sustain us, we embark on a momentous journey:
Renewing the Promise: the Campaign for Alderson-Broaddus.
Over the past several years, members of the Alderson-Broaddus
College community—faculty, staff, alumni, administrators,
trustees—have spent countless hours assessing the strengths
and potential of our gem in West Virginia. We have considered the
College from every vantage point, and concluded that we are positively
positioned for the next phase in our institutional development.
Our research indicates, and we sincerely believe, that with ambitious
capital and program improvements and a more solid financial standing,
Alderson-Broaddus will realize a new and exciting future. For these
reasons, we are launching Renewing the Promise: the Campaign
for Alderson-Broaddus, a $15 million effort to expand educational
opportunities for our students, strengthen our campus environment,
and build our institutional capacity. With the support of those
who believe in our mission, we are poised to provide the brain
power, the economic power, the human capital, and the leadership
that will improve life in the Appalachian region. By delivering
to our students a well-grounded education complete with comprehensive
programs and exceptional facilities, and by remaining true to our
American Baptist values and roots, we can transform lives.
