About FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to determine eligibility for federal Pell Grants and Stafford Loans; you will need to reapply each new school year. The fastest way to complete the FAFSA is online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. You  may also apply by paper or over the phone.
The FAFSA requires a signature. If you may apply online for a PIN number at http://www.pin.ed.gov . The FAFSA is the application for all institutional scholarships. You may be asked to submit more information to us if you are chosen for verification.

Suggestions for Faster FAFSA Results

Have the necessary tax forms (yours, parents, spouse) with you when filling out the FAFSA. It saves time if you use accurate figures and don't guess. However, you may estimate your information in order to file your FAFSA before the March 1 priority deadline and then go back and make corrections once your tax returns are completed.
Apply for a PIN at http://www.pin.ed.gov and submit the FAFSA online. This ensures the shortest processing time possible. You and your parents may both apply for a PIN if you are a dependent.
