Loan Disbursement

All federal loans come in at least two disbursements, one at the beginning of the loan period, and the second halfway through the loan period. This is true even for loan periods of only one semester or term.

Ex: A freshman requests a loan for $3,500. She will get half of that, for her first disbursement: $1,750.00.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT): American Education Services (AES) transmits funds electronically to A-B, where the funds will be credited to your student account to pay direct costs. Any funds in excess of current charges can be issued to you by check. Generally, financial aid is disbursed at the beginning of the semester/term.
