The College encourages students to become involved in volunteer projects/community service/service-learning experiences through the Students Learning in Community Education (S.L.I.C.E.) program. S.L.I.C.E. provides information on service opportunities available in the community and supports students and campus organizations in carrying out the many service projects they do during the year. S.L.I.C.E. also supports faculty and students interested in incorporating service into coursework.
S.L.I.C.E. functions under the direction of a student-run board with advisors selected from the A-B faculty/staff. S.L.I.C.E. is housed in the Campus Life Office, and coordinated by a student coordinator and the chaplain/assistant professor of religion and philosophy.
