A-B’s InFlux Editorial Staff Calls for Prose & Poetry Submissions

PHILIPPI, WV- The editorial staff of “Influx: A Literary Magazine of Alderson-Broaddus College” is calling for submissions for the annual InFlux writing contest. The contest deadline is January 25, 2013. Submissions will be accepted in two categories:  poetry and prose.

Three prizes will be awarded in each category: first place - $25, second place - $15, and third place - $10. All pieces must be original, unpublished work by currently enrolled students of Alderson-Broaddus College.

The winning pieces will be featured in a special section of InFlux 2013, which will be available mid-spring. Submissions for the publication itself will be accepted until February 15, 2013. All students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Alderson-Broaddus College are eligible to submit original, unpublished work for consideration.

Prose pieces for both the contest and the publication must be no longer than six to eight pages, double spaced. Poems must be single spaced with one poem per page. Multiple submissions are permitted. Writers are also asked to send a short autobiography with a maximum of 100 words. All work must be in Microsoft Word and submitted electronically to Mrs. Carol Del Col, advisor, at delcolcs@ab.edu .
