Special recognition given to Barbour County Office of Emergency Management

PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The annual Christmas Festival Concert at Alderson Broaddus will take place on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in Wilcox Chapel. This year, the music department is providing matinee and evening concerts (same program during each performance) in an effort to accommodate more attendees.

Both concerts will be dedicated to all emergency response personnel in Barbour County. A community reception with light refreshments will also take place in between performances from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of Burbick Hall. During this reception, the College will recognize the Barbour County Office of Emergency Management and all of those who provided—and continue to provide, in the aftermath of the storm—exemplary leadership and assistance throughout the week of the Hurricane Sandy crisis.

R.S.V.P. is required for the reception. Community members who wish to attend are asked to call the Office of Institutional Advancement with the number of persons attending at (304) 457-6321 or e-mail reply to

The Christmas Festival Concert will feature several music groups, including the Concert Choir, Brass Choir, and “The West Virginians.” This event is free and open to the public.
