PHILIPPI, W.Va. - Alderson Broaddus University is pleased to co-sponsor with the U.S. Army Reserve "Bridge the Gap" on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 9:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. on ABU’s campus quad.

This recruiting and community outreach event is designed to bring together institutions of higher education and local high schools, influential members of the state and community, local Army Reserve units, public service organizations, local and federal government agencies, and area businesses to educate and recruit local college and high school students.

“The event is essentially a big career fair for civil servants and other emergency management personnel,” says Lara Foster, intramural program coordinator at Alderson Broaddus University. “Through this event it is our hope that together we can educate students on local opportunities and the importance of preparing for their future.”

Those who attend will have the opportunity to learn what these businesses/ organizations do, see the types of opportunities/ jobs offered, and discover how to prepare for the future.

Examples of those attending include: Federal Bureau of Prisons, NASA, United States Postal Service, WV Department of Forestry, Pennsylvania State Police, WV State Government, United Hospital Center, and many more.

Alderson Broaddus University students and staff will be available for tours of campus and to answer questions about the University. Froggy radio will also be broadcasting live from the event.
