Defense Leads Battler Women's Volleyball Past the Pioneers
GLENVILLE, W.Va. -- Alderson Broaddus women’s volleyball earned its third consecutive victory and first conference win Wednesday as the Battlers defeated Glenville State 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-16) at Jesse R. Lilly Gym.
"We had a great win in our opening conference match," said Head Coach Carrie Bodkins. "It was certainly the way we wanted to begin our conference schedule."
The Battler defense dominated the Pioneers recording 14 blocks. Freshman Kaitlyn Eilenfeld notched a pair of solo blocks and junior Ashley McDonald tallied five block assists.
Eilenfeld also aided the Battlers (4-12) offensive effort, crushing eight kills and compiling a .400 attack efficiency. McDonald also logged a team-high 12 kills in the win and sophomore Kayla Peterson recorded a team-high 28 assists.
Junior Dejana Ludoski led the Pioneers with 10 digs and five kills.
AB returns to Rex Pyles Arena Friday for its home opener versus Seton Hill at 7 p.m. ET. Friday is also Lymphoma Awareness night and fans are asked to wear green to support the effort.
