Women's Volleyball Loses to IUP and Mercyhurst

A-B women's volleyball lost to Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Mercyhurst University Friday at the IUP Crossover.

INDIANA, Pa. -- Alderson-Broaddus women's volleyball lost matches to Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Mercyhurst University Friday to begin the IUP Crossover event at Kovalchick Center.

The Crimson Hawks defeated A-B 3-1 in the first match Friday. The Battlers took the advantage with a 25-14 win in set one, before losing consecutive sets to IUP (16-25, 17-25, 21-25). Sophomore Kayla Peterson recorded 24 assists, 19 digs and three kills in the loss.

A-B lost its match to Mercyhurst in straight sets (15-25, 13-25, 22-25).

The Battlers return to the court Saturday to face Clarion University at 9 a.m. and Gannon University at 5 p.m. ET.
