Josh Chiado (percussion)

 
Mr. Joshua Chiado has served as Adjunct Instructor of Percussion since 2007.  His responsibilities at Alderson Broaddus University include teaching private lessons and percussion pedagogy classes.  An AB alumnus, Chiado holds the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Musical Arts with a minor in Education and currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Music Education Degree from Canyon College.

A native of Clarksburg, WV, Mr. Chiado is an active performer and arranger.  He has performed with the Edwin McCain band, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Appalachia Brass, and the Bluecoats.  Numerous schools have used his percussion arrangements, and his recently published "Dueling Snares" was premiered in April 2007.  Chiado has studied with Kurry Seymour, Gordon Nunn, and Brian Wolfe of the Maynard Ferguson Band.

Mr. Chiado’s concurrent positions include Director of Percussion at Bridgeport High School (since 1999) and Director of Hand Bells and Co-Director of the Franklin United Methodist Church Choir, Franklin, WV.  The Bridgeport High School’s percussion sections, both battery and front ensemble, and percussion ensemble, have earned numerous awards under his leadership.
