Alderson-Broaddus Scholarships

Gift Aid includes grants and scholarships, and does not have to be repaid. Outside grants and scholarships you receive are included in your aid package.

Alderson-Broaddus Grants & Scholarship Program for 2012-13

    *  National Merit Finalist – Full-Tuition Scholarship

    *  Trustee with Distinction Scholarship – Merit based undergraduate tuition scholarship  awarded to students upon acceptance to the college; based upon high school transcripts and test scores; students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress; $12,000 for first-time students entering A-B for Fall 2012.

    * Trustee Scholarship – Merit based undergraduate tuition scholarship awarded to college students upon acceptance to the college; based upon high school transcripts and test scores; $10,000 for first-time students entering A-B for Fall 2012.

    * Presidential Scholarship – Merit based undergraduate tuition scholarship awarded to college students upon acceptance to the college; based upon high school transcripts and test scores; $8,000 for first-time students entering A-B Fall 2012.
 
   * Dean Scholarship - Merit based undergraduate tuition scholarship awarded to college
students upon acceptance to the college; based upon high school
transcripts and test scores; $6,000 for first-time students entering A-B
Fall 2012.

    * Transfer Scholarships - Merit based undergraduate tuition scholarships awarded to college transfers upon acceptance to the college; based upon college grade point average; $12,000 - $6,000 for students entering A-B Fall 2012.  Must have 12 transferable credit hours.

     * A-B Endowed Scholarships/A-B Grant (Need Based; Amount Varies) These scholarships are supported by the generosity of alumni and private donors to the College’s Scholarship Endowment Fund. These are based upon financial need and being enrolled full-time and are awarded by the financial aid office based upon the information on a student’s FAFSA. Endowed Scholarships will be reduced if a student receives any other college scholarships, federal and state need-based grants, or if a student’s housing status changes.

    * International Student Scholarship - For full-time, residential, international students whose citizenship is from another country.  Dual citizenship students are not eligible; $14,000 per year starting Fall 2012, other A-B scholarships do not apply.

    * E.J. Willis Residential Scholarship - For children of senior pastors, any full-time minister of a church, or missionary (international or national) that is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches, USA or one of its member regions OR for students majoring in Christian Studies through a selection process. The scholarship is the equivalent of the charge of a double room while the student is living on campus.
